perhaps, perhaps, perhaps

Nope, no new car yet. Still in the works though. I think it will happen soon. Hopefully. Anyways...

Ever since I started test driving cars and shopping for cars, I take in more of the details of cars than I ever did. For example, I see more 350Z's than I ever did before I rented that thing. Man, those are nice cars. I would love to get behind the wheel of one of those things again!

I was going to have movie night with Grandma, but we both cancelled. She because the D-Backs are on TV tonight, and me because my car...yeah, it's dying again. I hope it will make it to work tomorrow...kinda nervous about that, but there is nothing I can do about it at the moment.

Okay, coming out with it. I had a really rough go at it last week. Really rough. I mean, was really low, very depressed. No, I wasn't missing Warren, I hardly think about him anymore. Even though I had gone to FHE, institute, the temple, grandma's, institute again, and had some things to do last week, I still was in a very bad way. I don't think I wrote a lot last week. Gosh I don't even remember if I wrote a post at all last week.

What has changed? Well, for one I refilled my prescription. Yeah, I takes medication to keep me sane. Perhaps the reason why I was so bad off was because I was used to feeling mostly normal and all of a sudden I was feeling bad like ALL of the time.
Perhaps it was a scripture I read. You know, the funny thing is, all last week I was very consistent and diligent, reading scriptures, saying meaningful prayers, etc. Goodness, I go to Church twice a lot of weeks (once to the family ward where I have my records, and once to a singles ward of my choosing). AND I am going to Stake Choir practice now.
Perhaps it was the fact that I was given a calling. I have a purpose now. I have an identity through this calling. Yes, me, Elizabeth, the Sunbeams teacher (!!!! :) !!!!)
Perhaps I just needed a test of faith, and now I have a bit of a break.
Perhaps it was some of the insights I caught while reading something a member of the Church wrote about recovering from depression and what it is really about. I have it, it is in a conspicuous spot, but I never would pick it up. But I ALWAYS felt like I needed to pick it up and read it, that there were things in that book that I needed to know. Well, dang it, I am going to read the thing!

Alright, going to prepare a bit for my sunbeams thing Sunday. :) Eek, I am so excited about this calling!

full of little nuggets of advice

1. DO NOT get the mint cookies and cream shake from ChikFila, it is terrible!

2. If you have acne problems, like I do, take a heavy heavy dose of Beta-Carotene (vitamin A), that is where they get things like Retin-A, Acutane, etc. I love pharmacists!

3. Get health insurance. It is a whole lot cheaper to get prescriptions if you have than if you don't!

4. Always be prepared to run into someone you haven't seen in a long time. Those of you who know the guy who took me on a motorcycle ride on a date when I literally got burned by his tailpipe...yeah, saw him at institute.

5. Um...that's it. Night!

YAY!!!

Elizabeth has wireless! Yay for friends who know computers! This guy offered to come over and help me with my computer, and so now I have wireless! Haven't tried it from my room yet, but I am sure that it works. SO happy!

So, I might possibly have a new car tomorrow. Maybe. The dealership quoted me a kinda high interest rate, so I have applied at a local bank. I ran into an old friend who happens to work for the bank, and he is hooking me up! Hooray!

Pictures will be a plenty in kinda short order. :)

Alright, I am exhausted. Short entry tonight. I will be more long-winded tomorrow. Night!

this car has power!

And not just horse power. I pull up to the Wendy's drive through window to pick up two frosty's and chicken nuggets for Connie and I to share cause I am on my way to her new place, and the manager of the Wendy's comes over to the window and seriously starts hitting on me. I promise you, if I had pulled up in my station wagon, he wouldn't have noticed me at all. In fact, I should test that out.

So I thought I was going to get a new car this weekend, but it has to wait until next week. I just don't have the time! I have to get the rental back to the rental place tomorrow night and then I have this Relief Society activity which comes with dinner ...which by the way I forgot about until my taskmaster on my phone reminded me. How nifty is that? I will have to use it more often!

Saturday I am working 6 hours of overtime (no sleeping in I am afraid), and then my cousin (I hope) is coming up to help me with all this stuff in my house, and then I have a ward thing that night that I said I would bring veggies to. I am busy.

So I am thinking about applying for a job that would move me away from here. It pays like twice as much as I am making, and I think I would enjoy it a lot more. I don't know if I would really be considered for the position, but it doesn't hurt to apply, right? I could be moved to San Francisco, Chicago or DC. All much cooler temps than what I am used to, but all places at which I think I would enjoy living. I don't know. No, not a music job, a teaching job. More like a teaching supervisor job. Anyways, I think I am going to apply. What the heck, right? I am actually kinda excited about the prospect, I think I would really enjoy it. :)

:)

Okay, so I get to work just barely on time, and I notice that my car is acting kinda funny, but it often does that. I get off of work, drive to the gym and work out. I walk out of the gym, walk to the car, open car, sit in car, put key in car...and guess what? Oh, just guess. DON'T think TOO hard about this one, my friends. That's right, it doesn't start. Yay, right?
4 hours later I am at the airport rental car place. There is of course a line. I finally get up to the lady who is the ONLY one smiling behind the counter. We chit chat, the other guys leave, so there is this rather long line and then there is me and this lady...and that's it. So she is on the phone, they are short on cars, I tell her I am a musician, I play the cello, I am buying a new car this weekend and taking it with me to make sure it fits...and she asks me if I have it with me right now. I thought that was an odd question, so I say no. She asks me, and you don't need to put it in a car anytime soon. I say no again.

AND THEN

she asks me if I would like a 350Z Nissan.

:)

I have only had one moment like this one before. It happens to involve a cello. I met YoYo Ma, and if you don't know who he is, google him right now. This guy is huge in the music business, and he performs on some rather expensive instruments. So he is chit chatting and I am the only one answering his questions and talking back,

AND THEN

he asks me if I would like to play his cello.

:)

I have played a 5.3 million dollar cello, and I have a 350Z parked in my garage as we speak.

I needed something happy to happen to me. Warren really offended me Monday night. Yes, he called, and we talked for quite a while, and really it wasn't all that bad of a conversation, but then he said something that was absolutely inappropriate and moreover was really inconsiderate of my feelings all together. No, what he said is not going to be posted on here. But trust me, it was not good.

My word, but I am over him. I never want to talk with him again. Jerk.

Yes, I called him a jerk!

Okay, back to happy thought. I have a car that could go 160 mph in my garage. I only took it to 90 on the way home, so don't worry. But it rumbles and stuff and That, my friends, is Cool.

Good night!

Clean!

Okay, those of you who know me really well know that I am a total and complete slob. Well, it used to not bother me. Really, it didn't. I really didn't care. Now I do!

I cleaned my room. I even vacuumed it. I know, crazy huh? I still have to organize some stuff, but shoes, books, clothes are all put away where they belong. All of the laundry is folded.

The incentive? I got a new comforter set. It's pretty cute, it was on sale, and I need one for my room anyways.

Oh I got some shoes. I LOVE them. And they are all size twelves! I even got some really cool Converse shoes that are black and gray. Yay!

So the Aunt's took what they wanted, and Aunt Nancy took a bunch of the furniture in the Master bedroom that belonged to her anyways. Cousins, come over to claim whatever is left. I have about 6 blenders, LOTS of dominoes and other games, tons of yarn, luggage. Those shelves in the garage are going. One is ruined, and I really don't need the rest of them, although I suppose it would be useful to keep one of them. But you may have them if you would like them.s And that chair that Connie sat in is up for grabs. Come and get it!

Got a pedicure done. I have never done a really summery color, so I did. If I hate it, I can take it off and have them change the color. I like them so far. I got some art done on them. Pretty cute.

Love to you all!!

Announcement

Tomorrow morning is the beginning of the large shoe event at Nordstrom's Rack. I will be there bright and early to dig into the many many shoes that are just waiting for me to purchase them. And they will be cute and comfy and stylish and cheap...and they will be size 12! Yay for shoes!!! :)

I will also be at Lowe's buying stuff to paint my house.

I will also have the Aunt's over to help me go through all the stuff in my house. :) Oh the many interesting things we are going to find. I am excited! It's like a treasure hunt.

And seriously, that ice cream machine is mine. I will share the ice cream I make with it, you can borrow the machine if you like, but only with the understanding that it will make its way back through the front door of this house in 4 or less days time. Do I make myself clear?

Good night! It's Friday!!!! Yay!

Thank you!

First off, thank you to those who boosted my spirits today. Much better today, I must say!

So today we had a pink slip party for a lady at work who quit and today was her last day. She has joked around for a few years that she would get the pink slip (fired) and yet they just kept on keeping her. So we had pink paper plates, plastic ware, pink cookies, pink decorations, pink slips all over her desk, pink clothes and bags and flowers and gifts, and even a real pink slip (lingerie). Our manager was mortified when he saw it, it was quite funny.

So I ate two cookies (you know those sugar cookies with that amazing frosting on top) AND a VERY large piece of cake and ice cream...in addition to the very healthy meals I had today (I was very healthy...besides this stuff).

So I worked out for 2 hours. Burned somewhere like 1000 calories I think. I know I did 700 on the elliptical and the bike, and in between runs on the elliptical I did lots of strength training. I am feeling the burn. I may regret it tomorrow, but "I feel good!" (song going through my head now).

Going to watch Funny Girl before bed tonight, post scripture study and prayer so I can fall asleep watch it if I want to. Night!

Lonely

Man, living in a big house all by yourself sucks bad. Technically, this is a four bedroom house. And it is practically empty. It is amazing how empty a house is when someone moves out. I miss just knowing that Connie's asleep in the room next to mine.

Her pad is pretty sweet though. Had dinner with her today, and this lady just invited herself to our table to sit and eat with us. At first I was kinda offended, but then I realized everyone does that there. Oh I hope Connie is happy there.

So yeah, on the brink of tears people. Sucks.

What is cool is going through all my Grandpa and Grandma's old stuff. Dude, my Grandpa was a stud. Lots and lots of pictures. He kept a bunch of letters, including some love notes to and from Grandma. SOOOO sweet. They really did love each other a lot.

Found the ice cream maker. I lay claim to it!!!

I am not sure how many of my cousins browse this, but I found two of his dominoes sets. 42 tourny, anyone??? :)

Found a briefcase that was locked, NO idea where the key is so I broke into it and found a bunch of his old papers and the beginning of him writing a history about himself back in 1976. I am going to keep that and type it up for everyone, cause I know I will do it, but I will show it to the Aunts when they come over Saturday and ask them if they know where the rest of it is. I kinda have been looking through EVERYTHING to try and locate the rest of it.

Oh, found his Patriarchal Blessing too. As a direct descendant I have the right to read it, and I want to make a copy of it for all the cousins who want it. I wish I could find Grandma's amongst all this stuff. Perhaps tomorrow.

All right, time to cry myself to sleep. Don't worry, this too shall pass. :) I know it! (I got that last line from Grandpa!!!:) )

The Coworker

So my coworker and I go downstairs for our lunch break (we eat lunch as we are working so we can have a real break for lunch) and I realize something. If you were to take the word "freakin'" our of her vocabulary, it would cut down about a third of the words coming out of her mouth. :)

So there is a guy at work whose name is Robert Downie Jr. And I am so not making this up.

btw...he is MUCH more attractive than the famous Robert Downie Jr. Too short for me though.

There are some REALLY nice people in this world. I asked one of the staff at my gym if she happened to have a hair tie or a rubber band I could borrow (no to former, yes to latter) and one of the women in the locker room came up to me and pulled out a hair tie from her newly purchased package of hair ties. Really sweet of her. Saved my hair from having to be entangled in a rubber band which is not a pleasant experience.

My Grandpa had a lot of stuff. And the house he kept looked clean and tidy. But in reality, it was crawling with stuff. For example: I was pulling some stuff out of the cupboard for Grandma Connie, and we found this little jar back in the corner. Open it up, and it has these creamy mints in it. I promise you they aren't mine, and they definitely were not Connie's, as sugar is not allowed much on her diet. This week will be interesting to say the least. :) Saturday "the aunts" are coming over to help me go through all of Grandpa's papers and collected items from over the years. :)

So I workout...

So I workout for 30 minutes today on the elliptical, feel good about it, realize I am hungry...and head to In-N-Out. Hamburger, no tomato or onion, fries, and chocolate shake. My redeeming grace...only had half the milkshake (saving the rest for tomorrow), but alas I did eat a cookie. Oh, but they are so good.

Oh, and Grandma is leaving the cookie jar! Which means she will coming here to visit quite often to fill it up. Yay!!

about the date...

Well, I had fun, but he's too young and short for me. Would be a good friend to have though.

So one of my best friend's Julie set me up with her brother-in-law. She wasn't at all sure that we would be a match, but what the heck, right? I mean, I set her up with my cousin back in the day. Anyways, I get all nervous and start thinking maybe I am not ready to go out with anyone yet. I mean, I got all freaked out about a dream I had the other night (DREAM: guy who is a friend of my cousin's hangs out a lot with me, asks me to marry him (no ring but a bracelet) and then turns out he was really trying to win me over for another guy who is latino and doesn't speak a word of english....yeah, totally random dream, NO idea where it came from). So I decide to go with it, we have Thai food (LOVE THAI FOOD) and were going to go bowling with his buddies...and they bail on him. So he has to improvise, long awkward silent moments as we sit and wait for the bill and for him to decide what we are going to do.

So I make the suggestion of a movie, and he practically jumps at it. Go to see the new Bourne movie (fabulous by the way) and it doesn't start for like 2 hours. So we go to the Pro Bass Shop. Yes that's right. A sportsmans shop. :) That's a first for me. Now, those of you who really know...know that I am not at all sportzy. But I go along with it. The store is actually pretty impressive, but I have to admit I was rather bothered by all the animals they had on display there. They have real animals (elk, raccoons, deer, snakes, bears, even a rhino) that they have stuffed and put on display. That just isn't my thing. You don't kill something just for the heck of it and to display it. That BOTHERS me. You kill to protect yourself, your family, friends, country, or to eat it because you need food. PERIOD. They were selling elephant guns in there! Why in the world would an Arizonan need an elephant gun? Could someone please answer me this?

So anyways, I am rather mortified by some areas of the store. But some areas were actually really cool, like the boat area. They well boats, and the boats are on display inside this massive store. They were pretty sweet. And they had tubes and skis and boards and life jackets. I liked that area. And they had more fishing poles than I thought could exist on the planet. Dang, but there a lot of different kinds of fishing poles out there!

Go see the movie (great movie) and he drives me home. The nice thing is that besides at the restaurant and during the movie we were able to carry a fairly decent conversation. But, yeah, not my type. May ask Julie if she thinks he should meet my sister. Not sure if he is her type, but I really don't know what her type is.

Today was Grandma's last day in the ward. I cried in all three meetings. Yep, I am a sap. I am going to miss her so much! :(

They have arrived...and firemen everywhere...:)

So today was actually a good day. Let me tell you a bit about it:

Went to work, didn't yell at anyone driving there. Not that I didn't have the opportunity, but I just was happy enough to not be angry at the person who cut me off today.

Work was good, except the computers don't like to work when we need them to...which is all the time. The team next to us ordered Quizno's for lunch and I went in with them. People, try the Tuscan Turkey. It is AMAZING! I did it without tomato (cause I only eat tomato's in Mexican food, on salads and by themselves) and it was simply fantastic. Not spicy at all, just an amazing mix of flavors. And it came on this Rosemary bread...oh my it was wonderful.

Grandma called and let me know that the appliances came in...YAY!!! New fridge AND washing machine. Yay. (Did a load of wash, and it looks great!)

Driving home, I decide to go to the gym. Took my gym clothes out of the car with a propel, and was on the eliptical for more than 30 minutes! Now, if you know me, that is simply amazing. It didn't hurt at all either. I was sweating so much though, which is a good thing. Burned off over 300 calories. :)

HERE IS THE BEST PART...as I was on the elliptical, I noticed a guy with the city Fire Department shirt on...and then another...and then another...they just kept showing up. And let me tell you, they looked good. Ripped, tall, and one of them especially was rather enjoyable to admire. I think I even said a prayer being grateful for beautiful works of art like this man. So here I am, Ms. I have gained 25 pounds since leaving Alabama (yes, it is true, but that will ALL go away soon cause I am really really really mad at myself for gaining all this weight when I was wanting to lose that much weight), and all these lovely, tall, tan, good looking firemen are just infesting the gym. Yeah, it was pretty much fantastic.

Came home, admired fridge and washing machine, did a little Elizabeth dance filled with squeaks and squawks. :) Went to WalMart to get milk, juice and other necessities (real shopping spree will be after my next pay check), filled car with gas, came home...and that's about it.

Love ya'll!

(Pictures of new appliances are forthcoming)

New Appliances

I am officially grown up. I bought a fridge and a washing machine today. Thanks to a temp loan from my parents, I will have a brand new washer and fridge in the house tomorrow. I am REALLY looking forward to having milk again. I haven't any in like 2 1/2 weeks, and I am feeling the effects. NEED CALCIUM!

Hung out with my friend Franchesca tonight. We got some food, bought appliances, and went to her pad to watch Bewitched, but alas her niece (who she is babysitting for a few days) was not wanting to fall asleep easy.

I came home and cleaned out the fridge. Threw out something that should have been eaten in 2005...yeah.

And then, surprise, surprise, I got asked out on a date. Saturday night. How about that? First date in a few months. Yes, I will report. I promise. But until then, I will leave ya'll in suspense. :) No details. That gives me a good long blog to write when I get home Saturday night.

Grandma moves out Tuesday. Still not happy about it, but then again, it gives me the opportunity to clean the house really well and repaint the house (which, believe me, needs to be done!).

Ah, being grown up. Kinda fun, but then again, I can't snap out of make believe anymore. You know, when you were younger and pretended you were grown up. I have to be grown up a lot of the time now. That is kinda stressful, ya know?

Good night!!

Thanks Penny...:)

Alright, so I am supposed to fill out the following, so here goes.

Okay, so my internet service which I am borrowing...:) is for some reason all of a sudden very slow, so that will have to wait for a minute. And now for your daily dose of Elizabeth:

Well, I still think I am sick.
I have decided that I hate PUP's (provider updates) which is what I was trained on today.
No washer and dryer, although I very recently inherited a little money so tomorrow is the the day. Fridge and washer for just under $800. They aren't the best I could get, but still that's pretty dang good coming from the Maytag store. And I did my shopping, including Outlets and online.
I got my gym membership squared away, did cardio long enough to burn 360 calories and some lower body strengthening. I then went home and ate 3 slices of thin crust Pizza Hut pizza. :) So much for working out, huh? I still feel good.
Watched the DBacks game with Grandma (we won, yay!, and are in first in the NLWest!!!!)
Read emails, sent off coverletter for job at ASU (yes, just got this job, and am applying for another one...but really, I would rather work at ASU...can you blame me?).
Saw how many people really do read my blog (5 comments!!!so far, although 2 technically were from the same person).
Found out cousin is pregnant, yay!
Talked with Mom, Nichee, Comcast (made sure they really did cancel my connection in Alabama).

Interesting yet?

Now, can I just say that Stephen Drew on the AZ Diamondbacks is very good looking? Well, I am going to say it anyways. He is VERY good looking. :) I think I have a little crush on him. I really am a sucker for baseball players actually.
